SSM and MCE extends our best wishes for a magical holiday season. We look forward to seeing you back at MyArts when classes resume on the 9th!
Winter Solstice Benefit
Wow, Madison Cello Ensemble families and friends! Thank you for an incredible evening at the Solstice Benefit. We are very grateful for the support of our board members, Marcia Castor and Christopher Harrison and parents Collette Lee, for the amazing Giving Tree and Ellen Carlson, for organizing the pizza. Senior parents Kath Loving, Vanessa Ott and Glen Pawelski spent hours in set up! We can truly celebrate each student, family member, and volunteer who worked so hard practicing, getting donations, and showing up with hearts filled with joy and compassion, epitomizing the goals of our program – to create beauty and community through music! Holiday Blessings and Cheers to Cellos!
The MCE Giving Tree
A message from Collette Lee-
We are looking to raise money for MCE for the coming year. The purpose of this fundraising is twofold:
To build up our scholarship fund to ensure that any child who wants to learn a stringed instrument isn’t turned away because they can’t afford it.
To help cover the cost of our community outreach events throughout the year. This includes big events like the MCE Winter Solstice and Cello Spring Concert which take considerable funds and teacher time, but also smaller events like Make Music Madison and Bach Around the Clock. These funds will help pay for location, equipment, or set up fees as well as ensure our teachers are appropriately paid for their time.
Any amount is appreciated! Help us clear our tree and support all of the amazing students and teachers this year! Donate to support a class, a child’s tuition, a retreat or workshop, a recital, the Cello Spring Concert, Make Music Madison, Bach Around the Clock or the Sugar Maple Music – “Triple Forte Festival”. All of these opportunities and more are provided to every student through MCE at no additional cost!
And remember, all of your donations are tax-deductible in case you are looking for some year end giving!
2nd Semester Tuition
2nd semester tuition is available for booking on the website! Click here to pay tuition.
MCE students please note: Ensemble Cello Classes run 20 weeks versus 18 for violin. They include both Suzuki repertoire and the evolving tradition of cello ensemble music. Students are offered opportunities to work with guest artists and multiple optional community performance opportunities. Often, two or more teachers collaborate in the rehearsals to support ensembles, coach at differentiated levels, and provide accompaniment.
