Registration for 2024-2025 is open! Click HERE to register–please note the different registration forms for Violin, Viola, and our new multi-level group class at Covenant (more info on that below).
Payment for SSM is billed in two semesters–fall and spring. Once you have filled out the registration form, visit the store HERE to make a payment for fall. Tuition is due September 10th. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to administrator@
Mark Your Calendars–Welcome Back Play-in and Social
Welcome Back Play-in and Social–Tuesday, September 24th. A reminder that regular classes (except Sonora) don’t meet on play-in days. ALL SSM students meet in MYArts room 4D to play together–5:15 Tune, 5:30 Play. Immediately after the play-in on the 24th we’ll meet for pizza and drinks in the MYArts 4th floor lobby. Pizza ordering will be available at our first rehearsal on September 10th!
Support Sonora Strings!
Sonora is heading to San Diego January 1-6 to play with SDSU pre-college strings! They will be working hard to raise money to support their outreach and travel. Please feel free to donate to support them HERE.

Tuesday Group Classes at MYArts
Our weekly Tuesday offerings at MYArts provide a dynamic and engaging experience for all students. Our group classes are held at the state-of-the-art MYArts building in Madison’s vibrant youth arts corridor. We offer a wide range of classes designed to nurture musical development in children of all ages and skill levels. These include Music and Movement, taught by the wonderful Sue Ellen Dubbert, for our youngest learners, focusing on experiencing music through movement, Pre-Twinkle Violin for beginning violinist, and progressively advanced violin classes from Book 1 through Book 5. Additionally, we provide specialized group classes such as String Orchestra (taught by Vinicius Sant’Ana, newly appointed Milwaukee Symphony musician!) which hones ensemble playing skills, and Sonora, focusing on advanced repertoire. Our RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) classes, taught by Clayton Tillotson, are tailored for both continuing and new students, with an emphasis on music theory. Clayton will be working with Books 4/5 and Sonora this year. Monthly play-ins, held on the last Tuesday of each month, bring our community together and serve as a valuable preparation for special SSM performances and outreach events.
Multi-Level Group Class at Covenant Presbyterian
To support diverse schedules and needs, we are offering a new bi-monthly multi-level Monday group class at Covenant Presbyterian Church. This offering is for students who have difficulty getting to MYArts for Tuesday evening classes due to sports commitments or complicated commutes to MYArts. This class will service Twinkles-Book 4. In addition to the class dates below, participants are strongly encouraged to join play-ins at MYArts on the last Tuesday of each month- September 24 (play-in and welcome back social), October 29 & November 26. Play-ins start at 5:15 Tune, 5:30 Play.
The class meets the following Mondays from 6:15-7:15 P.M at Covenant Presbyterian Church (326 S Segoe Road, Madison WI 53705). Tuition is $210.
Any missed classes will not be made up.
