Dear Parents: Setting up a Successful Year in Music Lessons

Dear SSM Families,

Reevaluating routines and habits or establishing routines for the new school year for our Suzuki families is a necessary first step for practice success.  Family schedules, commitments and needs change year to year and this is a wonderful time to create practice routines that meet your current situation.

We have daily lesson and group classes scheduled BUT what our students and their practice partner and/or independent practicers need is to carve our space for HOME PRACTICE.

Scheduling your home practice is essential. Whether it is a regular slot in the day every week or a changing time that needs to be set week by week, getting practice on your calendar will help create the commitment and follow through for success.

Suzuki Strings of Madison has purchased a wonderful video recording and resource from Christine Goodner author and amazing teacher.  Watch and listen at your leisure.   Setting up for a Successful Year in Music Lessons.

Christine also has a variety of topics on her podcast Time to Practice.

I hope that you find some helpful insights and support as you navigate this musical journey with your student with Suzuki Strings of Madison.  Enjoy this gift to you from SSM.

With a twinkling spirit,
Diana
