Dress Rehearsal this Tuesday at 5:15!

A reminder that there is a mandatory dress rehearsal for our Spring Concert this Tuesday, April 28th at MYArts!  5:15 Tune, 5:30-7 Rehearsal.

Upcoming: All-School 35th Anniversary Concert

It will be May before we know it!  On May 2nd we’ll celebrate SSM’s 35th Anniversary in a concert at the Mitby Theather (1701 Wright Street).  Please share the poster below with family and friends–it would be lovely to perform for a full house!  Please pick up fliers at MYArts by the black and white bins.

Concert–Saturday, May 2nd

  • Tune: 3:30 PM

  • Performance: 4:00–5:30 PM

Mandatory Rehearsal–Tuesday, April 28th at MYArts. Rehearsal will be held in reverse order, beginning with Pre-Twinkles and ending with Sonora.

  • Tune: 5:15 PM

  • Rehearsal: 5:30–7:00 PM

Concert Clothing Share Bin

All Tuesdays in April: Drop off black and whiteclothing and outgrown SSM t shirts in box outside of Room 2-A Diana’s group class. White shirts, Black pants, Black skirts, Black shoes, Black socks, Black tights. Please also bring any outgrown SSM t-shirts. We will place a new order in time for the Madison Mallards event on June 6.

Congrats, Diana!

A huge congrats to our very own Diana Popowycz, who was named the recipient of the WYSO 2026 Rabin Youth Arts Award for Artistic Achievement!  The award honors extraordinary contributions to youth arts education and access across Wisconsin.

Diana will be presented the award during the 35th Anniversary Suzuki Strings of Madison Concert on May 2nd.  Click HERE to read more!

 

SSM at the Madison Mallards: June 6th at 6:35 PM

Mark your calendars for SSM’s Non-Profit night at the Mallards!  This is our largest fundraiser of the year.  Click HERE to purchase tickets and share widely with family and friends!

This game will be VERY fun, as it features music from Shrek Rave AND a drone show!  Tickets are expected to sell out, so share early and buy soon!  ALL students who are in attendance playing the anthlem are expected to purchase a ticket.

Ticket sales are live! SSM receives $10 from every seat sold, so please share the ticket link with friends, family, and co-workers. It is expected to be a sellout night, with a drone show after the game, so be sure to get your tickets early.We will run the 50/50 raffle and will need volunteers to help. Last year, we raised close to $3,000.

Festival Choir Ticket Offering

Festival Choir of Madison is offering a limited number of free tickets to selected music group students and their families for its upcoming concert, Haydn’s “Creation” at 7:30 pm on May 30, 2026, at Edgewood’s McKinley Performing Arts Center, 2219 Monroe St., Madison.

Up to eight family members may sign up per order, until May 27 or free tickets run out.   If students are below age 12, at least one adult must accompany them. To sign up for free tickets, use this form.

Overture Center Community Ticket Program Offerings

Suzuki Strings takes part in Overture Center’s Community Ticket program.  The Community Ticket Program helps ensure that all people, regardless of economic ability, have access to the performing arts. Through partnerships with more than 100 local social services organizations, the program reaches families throughout Dane County that are able to receive tickets for $3, and Broadway shows are $4.25.  Occasionally we will be offered tickets for certain shows, and I’ll post them here.  The promo code for the concerts is SUZUKI.
